Evaluating My Music Magazine - Question 3 ~ What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

I think my magazine would be best suited to be published by ‘Condé Nast’ not only because it’s one of the world’s leading publishers but it would be best suited to my magazine as I aimed it to look like a Vogue magazine. ‘Condé Nast’ even has started a college purely for teenagers looking to learn techniques that help in the magazine industry. However unlike Vogue my magazine is based more on the teenage demographic from the age of 16-20 mainly. Having said that I would still choose ‘Condé Nast’ as my magazine distributor; because I believe they have the experience in this type of magazine and also because my magazine is very similar to Vogue and Elle. On the contrary ‘Condé Nast’ already has a magazine that is similar to mine; therefore I would have to make sure mine is just as good if not better than the others to make sure my magazine achieves the same publicity as the others. My magazine would attract a lot of attention from my target audience if it were published by ‘Condé Nast’ as the company attracts more than 164 million consumers across its 20 print and digital media brand allowing it to reach my desired audience. In regards to synergy, ‘Condé Nast’ would also be good for this as they have a wide range of advertisements used in there magazines that could also be used in mine to further attract my target audience and give information about certain things to my audience that they may find useful; this comes under surveillance in the Uses and Gratifications theory. Overall I believe working with ‘Condé Nast’ would be more positive than negative and also give my magazine the publicity it needs to compete with other magazines.
